Colin Millar, a journalist from The Athletic, raised doubts about Manchester City's signing of Savio in a recent tweet.

Millar wrote, "As part of the City Football Group transfer, Savio joined Truro in 2022. He became Truro's most expensive signing in history but never played a game for the team. Immediately after joining Truro, he was loaned out to Girona, also owned by City Football Group, and they have now secured a spot in the Champions League."
